My story, so far...

Picture
Born in Acklam, Middlesbrough to Keith Edward and Barbara Anne, Adam became a Christian in his early years and has memories of his baptism at 6 months old at St Mary's Church, West Acklam before moving to St Barnabas, Linthorpe for Confirmation in his teenage years.

It was during his  time at St Mary's Sixth Form College that he began to sense a calling to full time Christian ministry. Whilst at Sixth Form College, he was involved in the work of the Chaplaincy team and was responsible for much of the work in his final year of study, as Head of Student Chaplaincy. This proved opportunities to lead worship, supporting the emotional needs of his peers and develop opportunities for engagement with the wider community.

During his time studying for an undergraduate Theology and Religious Studies degree at York St John University, his sense of vocation developed after a placement at St Hilda's Church, York, which is an urban priority parish on the outskirts of the City. After the formal placement ended, he was invited at the request of the parish priest to remain on the parish leadership team.

Since leaving University, Adam has always sought to explore his sense of calling and developed this in full time ministry; firstly as Director of Communications for Churches Together in Bognor Regis and District, followed by Project Director of Bedford Street Angels and more recently as Director of Development for Street Angels – Christian Nightlife Initiatives Network in a national leadership role which came to an end on 31st August 2012. Since then, Adam has been supporting a number of National and local ministries helping them develop their communications and media strategies.

Adam is also the Co-Founder and Marketing Director of The Treasure Box People. a Bible based mailer craft subscription service for families and also, working with Carl Brettle, UK Prayer Team.

Despite not being one for labels,  Adam has been defined in the past as being a 'Traditional Charismatic Evo-Catholic with Orthodox tenancies and some liberal views.'

Adam lives in the village of Wilstead, 4 miles south of Bedford with his wife, Becky and their children, Isaac and Keziah and their cats. In his spare time, Adam enjoys reading non-fiction, walking short distances, listening to music and spending time with his wife and family as well as singing loudly in the shower!
